Lassiter Mill Waterfalls (17)
Virtually in the middle of downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, Lassiter Mill Waterfalls is a preserved natural area where, in the early 1900's, Cornelius Lassiter build two 40-horse turbine wheels to mill grain and lumber. Originally called the "Great Falls of Crabtree", the site was used by successive mills starting about 1780 until it burned in 1959.
